The first concept art for next years Iron Man 3 has been released to the public and it drops the curtain on Tony Starks new duds!
The image, which will be available at this years San Diego Comic-Con shows Tony in a pinch as an armed force approaches him while putting on his armoured battle suit. While the scene itself is probably nothing more than sample art for the character rather than a key frame for the film itself, the suit that Tony is transforming into is without a doubt the Bleeding Edge armour – a liquid suit contained within his bones that can be summoned psychically at any time and can transform into any form that Tony can imagine.
We already knew that IM3 would follow the Extremis story arch written by Warren Ellis but this takes it just one step further as the Extremis armour from the comic retained its physical form while an under-armour was contained within Stark’s body at all times.
Of course this is just concept art, there’s a possibility that they won’t be using this suit but it seems likely that the concept will be the final design.
