Viral campaigns are the biggest trend in marketing films as of late and 2013′s Robocop already has a mechanical foot in the door with it’s Omnicorp homepage. The homepage shows all of the products available to make your city a safer place – solutions that pretty much revolve around mechanised death.
Included on the page is a short marketing video showcasing a newly redesigned ED-209 defense robot that retains some of the stylings from the original 1987 film but has been given a 21st century makeover (which sadly gives it a relatively generic appearance). The big reveal is yet to be unleashed though as Omnicorp teases the RC-2000 – the next generation in defense.
Most of the areas on the Omnicorp site seem to be locked off citing lack of clearance, these areas will most likely become revealed along the course of the next year…that is unless only specific people have been provided with greater access.
The Robocop remake is directed by Jose Padilha and stars Joel Kinnaman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Gary Oldman.
