Disney has announced yet another addition to the roster of their Wreck-it Ralph videogame tribute – namely, the blue blur himself, Sonic the Hedgehog. Also announced are the inclusion of the following street fighter characters: M. Bison, Ryu, and Ken.
While this isn’t huge news, the inclusion of Sonic changes the game (excuse the pun) a little. As we all know (obviously), Sonic the Hedghog has always been a property exclusive to the home console – at least as far as I know – and the Wreck-it Ralph trailer has sent the message that this film is set in an arcade world. So, I was expecting all future announcement to be the sole inclusion of arcade characters, characters like Donkey Kong, Pacman, and Frogger – heck, even a couple of pong paddles could have been an interesting touch.
So in light of this, can we expect any other console specific characters to show up? Well assuming that Disney wants to stay away from any serious violence, we should theoretically be able to see anything from Megaman to Metroid making an appearance – note, it is unlikely that they will show up but I’m really spit-balling here.
