I love it when Oliver Stone mixes things up and this time is a doozy for sure. Savages is tale of two small time cannabis kingpins who take the battle to the Mexican cartel after their shared girlfriend is abducted. Stone is a known pothead so I’m sure he’ll make this a political message as well as an all out action spectacle. What is most exciting is how Savages looks like a bit of a backpedal to Natural Born Killers (also directed by Stone) and hopefully it will bring back a bit of that energy into his work because his latest offerings have been a little down low.
